Partnership with PIXO VR

Our partner PIXO VR aims to bring changes to the current labor market and training approaches by popularizing Mixed Reality (MR) solutions. This fresh approach to employee training provides hands-on experience in risk-free simulated 3D environments. It applies in any industry and can be used to train a new generation of workforce and improve current employee performance.

N-iX Games started cooperation with PIXO VR back in 2018, and since then they’ve been one of our most trusted partners. As of 2024, we have delivered 11 full-cycle MR projects and co-developed over 9 more. Now a large team of Unreal and Unity programmers, game designers, artists, and producers serve as a true extension and a strong technical support of their internal team.

About the project

Upon entering the VR simulation, the user appears in the middle of a bustling warehouse, surrounded by workers, objects, and operational equipment. The environment is designed to be interactive, allowing users to roam freely around, inspect different areas, and identify various hazards. 

  • Training Modes: The program incorporates several distinct training modes. The Learning mode provides a fully visible checklist of potential hazards and is designed to familiarize trainees with possible dangers and safe practices. The Exam mode focuses on reinforcing skills learned in the Learning mode. Here the hazards are randomly generated to mimic real-world unpredictability.
  • Hazard Identification and Mitigation: Users are required to find hazards around different workplaces within the warehouse. Hazards can range from an unattended, started forklift to cylinders stored with incompatible chemicals or puddles of hazardous substances. Trainees must not only identify these hazards but also propose solutions to fix them.
  • AI Integration: Non-playable characters (NPCs) navigate through the environment, interact with users, and react to the actions performed. These NPCs simulate fellow workers and are part of the potential hazards; users need to ensure that NPCs are following safety protocols, including wearing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Randomized Interaction Points: Warehouses include dozens of spawn points where hazards may randomly appear. Each training session is unique, ensuring that users must consistently apply their critical thinking and hazard mitigation skills.
  • Multiplayer Functionality: The simulation allows multiple trainees to participate simultaneously. This facilitates team-based learning and enhances the realism of the training scenarios.

By offering a realistic and immersive environment, this VR training program prepares personnel in the oil and gas industry to effectively identify and mitigate hazards in warehouse settings. Optimized for Pico 3, Focus 3, and Quest 1 & 2 headsets, it provides a versatile and impactful training solution for enhancing workplace safety.
